Today begins your spectacular journey towards Chandratal.
Drive from Kaza towards Losar and cross Kunzum Pass, one of the highest points on the route.
Continue towards Chandratal Lake.
Chandratal means “Lake of the Moon” and is one of the most famous natural attractions in the Lahaul-Spiti region. Himachal Tourism places it north of Kunzum Pass and notes that the access road and camping are seasonal.
After reaching the parking area, walk towards the lake at a comfortable pace.
Spend the evening enjoying the peaceful surroundings and, if weather permits, the incredible night sky.
Important Family Note
The Chandratal approach is a rough high-altitude road. The final access can change with weather and road conditions, so the driver will follow the current local/official access situation.

The road from the Spiti side towards Manali can be challenging, particularly around the Kunzum–Batal–Gramphu section, so the journey should remain flexible according to weather and road conditions.
The official Lahaul-Spiti administration notes that the Keylong–Kaza/Kunzum route is seasonally affected by snowfall and that access through the passes can close for extended periods.
After crossing the Atal Tunnel, the landscape changes dramatically as you enter the greener Kullu Valley.
