Tucked between Tibet and Himachal Pradesh, Spiti – often called “The Middle Land” – is a high-altitude cold desert known for its stark landscapes, ancient monasteries, and remote villages that seem untouched by time. From the lush green valleys of Kinnaur to the rugged beauty of Spiti and the crystal-clear waters of Chandratal Lake, this trip offers a blend of nature, spirituality, and adventure like no other.

Scenic drive via Shimla, Kufri to Narkanda (a beautiful Himalayan town at 8,900 ft).
Evening leisure walk through apple orchards & pine forests.
Overnight stay at Narkanda.
Drive through Rampur & Kinnaur Valley towards Sangla.
Explore Kamru Fort & Baspa riverside.

Morning excursion to Chitkul, the last Indian village near Tibet.

Start the day with a visit to the Tabo Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in the Himalayas. Later, drive to Dhankar Monastery, perched dramatically on a cliff, offering stunning views of the valley. Continue towards Pin Valley National Park, home to snow leopards and the Pin Parvati trek route. By evening, reach Kaza, the heart of Spiti Valley. Overnight stay in Kaza.
Spend the day exploring the highlights of Spiti. Visit Key Monastery, the largest in Spiti, followed by Kibber Village, known for its wildlife sanctuary. Then drive to Hikkim (world’s highest post office), Komic (one of the highest villages in the world), and Langza, famous for its giant Buddha statue and ancient fossils. Return to Kaza for overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive towards Kunzum Pass (4,551 m). Stop at Losar village on the way. From Kunzum, take the narrow trail to Chandratal Lake, known as the “Moon Lake” for its crescent shape and turquoise waters. Short trek (10–15 min) to the lake from parking.
Spend the evening enjoying the serene beauty of the lake and stargazing at night. Overnight stay in camps near Chandratal Lake (basic but comfortable).
Wake up to a breathtaking sunrise at Chandratal. After breakfast, drive via Kunzum Pass, Batal, Chhatru, Atal Tunnel and reach Manali. This stretch is adventurous with streams crossing the road, but your experienced driver ensures a safe journey. Evening free at leisure in Manali. Overnight stay in Manali.
Full day for Manali exploration – visit Hadimba Temple, Manu Temple, Vashisht Hot Springs, Tibetan Monastery, Van Vihar, and Mall Road. You can also enjoy adventure activities like paragliding or river rafting nearby (optional). Overnight stay in Manali.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Chandigarh (via Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur). Evening drop at Chandigarh airport/railway station. Trip concludes with beautiful memories.
